About the position

The Case Manager at CWS is responsible for providing resettlement case management services to newly arriving refugees and other eligible clients. This role focuses on assisting clients in accessing necessary services and navigating local systems during their resettlement period, ultimately helping them achieve self-sufficiency and establish a new home in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the resettlement of clients by ensuring timely delivery of services and compliance with guidelines.
  • Locate and inspect housing for newly arriving clients and arrange housing setup with necessary supplies.
  • Pick up clients from the airport and provide initial housing orientation.
  • Develop and implement Resettlement Service Plans based on individual client needs.
  • Perform periodic home visits and provide in-home orientation to clients.
  • Connect clients to in-house support and external service providers to assist in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Schedule appointments for clients, including medical and clothing bank visits.
  • Arrange interpretation and translation services for clients as needed.
  • Document all contacts and services in client case files and maintain case note logs.
  • Track client progress and provide follow-up assistance throughout the resettlement period.
  • Prepare and document monthly maintenance assistance requests and distribute disbursements.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance within case files according to Cooperative Agreements and Guidelines.
  • Assist the Casework Supervisor or Site Director with necessary duties.
  • Advocate on behalf of refugees and immigrants and stay informed about relevant issues and services.
  • Represent the program at community meetings and speaking engagements.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in refugee resettlement.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous work experience in refugee resettlement or direct social services.
  • Ability to provide culturally sensitive counseling and case management.
  • Fluency in a refugee language (Spanish, French, Swahili, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Somali, etc.) and superior English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access) and internet applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
