About the position
The position involves performing direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, following physician's orders. The role includes consulting with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and acting as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff regarding respiratory care. The candidate will also be responsible for performing various assigned duties related to respiratory therapy.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders.
- Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy.
- Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
- Perform assigned duties related to respiratory therapy.
Requirements
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
- Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- For co-workers in the Emergency Room, PALS certification is required.
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 10 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.
Nice-to-haves
- Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Critical care experience preferred.
