About the position

The Regenerative Food Facility Lead at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for overseeing the design, operationalization, and implementation of a new facility within the Global Regenerative Foodscapes strategy. This role involves managing a multi-national team, developing partnerships, and ensuring the facility's success in promoting regenerative food systems that align with TNC's mission to conserve lands and waters. The position requires a strong background in conservation practice, project management, and fundraising, with a focus on creating an inclusive work environment and driving innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the new Regenerative Food Facility design and operationalization.
  • Monitor delivery status of programs/projects in line with delivery plans.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for the facility to various stakeholders including government agencies and private sector organizations.
  • Develop key partnerships related to the Facility and Regenerative Foodscapes strategy.
  • Manage a multi-national staff and consultants, including performance management and motivation.
  • Identify and cultivate donor prospects, ensuring effective communication and reporting with funders.
  • Direct marketing efforts to attract high-quality applicants for the Facility's call for proposals.
  • Develop requests for proposals (RFPs) for grants and contracts and oversee procurement processes.
  • Engage local community support for conservation efforts and negotiate solutions with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 10 years' experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading and managing complex projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation.
  • Supervisory experience, including motivating and managing performance of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing partnerships with non-profit partners, private companies, and government agencies.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements and partnerships.
  • Experience with financial management of a large program.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree strongly desired.
  • Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience.
  • 10-12 years' experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in business consulting or the private sector, especially related to agri-food sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of agriculture, food systems, and conservation issues.
