About the position

The Region Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the finance function across multiple sites within a region. This includes managing financial planning and analysis, financial control, cost accounting, and ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting principles. The CFO will collaborate with regional leadership to align financial strategies with corporate goals, drive operational efficiency, and support business growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote region goals and objectives aligned with corporate goals.
  • Guide planning and development of departmental region budgets and evaluate fiscal management.
  • Collaborate with Region Leadership to enhance interface capabilities with other functions.
  • Analyze and propose solutions to operational problems to improve performance.
  • Serve as the finance region spokesperson for inquiries and information requests.
  • Provide coaching and direction to site finance teams for optimal efficiencies.
  • Participate in the region cross-functional leadership team.
  • Lead with a customer-centric mindset to drive collaboration and high-performance culture.
  • Support volume and sales growth as a business partner with the Region Team.
  • Align with function leaders to develop annual operating and profit growth plans.
  • Conduct business reviews and analyze operational results and variances.
  • Build and manage the Region Team through regular meetings and engagement.
  • Directly manage Site Finance leadership and cash conversion cycle.
  • Support the design and implementation of Cost Accounting capability.
  • Ensure compliance with production and inventory control policies.
  • Work with Business Unit Leadership to develop improvement plans from employee surveys.
  • Evaluate financial impacts of plans and assist other departments in achieving goals.
  • Support technological and reporting changes as sites convert to core systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial compliance with Sysco's policies.
  • Support Credit function and Master Data Strategies for reporting and transformation efforts.
  • Provide support to meet proper staffing needs.
  • Select, develop, and retain leadership talent within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business.
  • Minimum 5-10 years in a mid to senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • Experience in both Union and Non-Union environments preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or food production environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and projections.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
