About the position

The Region Chief Information Officer (RCIO) at CommonSpirit Health serves as the primary liaison between Information Technology and the Region Executive Team, ensuring that technology acts as a competitive advantage. This role involves leading the strategy for the region's technology needs, managing IT operations, and collaborating with national IT leaders to deliver efficient and secure technology solutions across various care sites. The RCIO is responsible for enhancing customer experience and driving integrated care initiatives while maintaining financial stewardship and compliance with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy development for the region's technology needs under the direction of the SVP Chief Technology Officer.
  • Develop and execute IT systems and operational plans in collaboration with division and facility management.
  • Drive consumer-focused integrated care initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness and service quality.
  • Ensure efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure and applications are delivered.
  • Partner with leadership to support CommonSpirit Health's vision, mission, and business goals.
  • Create and maintain an appropriate organizational structure and staffing model for regional IT operations.
  • Develop and contribute to annual capital and operating budgets for region IT operations.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and delivery of the products and services roadmap.
  • Foster a cohesive IT team culture focused on consumer experience and agility.
  • Manage local technology environments according to established service levels and enterprise standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in executive IT leadership in a healthcare environment.
  • Deep understanding of a broad range of technologies and their application in healthcare.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships between technology teams and business partners.
  • Data-driven mindset informed by metrics and analytics.
  • Commitment to operational excellence and quality in patient care.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to frame complex issues and persuade diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading in a matrix environment and influencing without authority.
