As a Regional Account Manager (RAM) at Cogent, you will be at the forefront of selling a vital service that every business relies on: Internet connectivity. In this position, you will undergo a comprehensive onboarding and training program designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. This includes a four-week immersion program that covers orientation, product and network training, hands-on workshops, and sales fundamentals. You will also benefit from ongoing mentorship and training, ensuring that you are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the role. As part of a dynamic sales organization, you will work alongside a diverse team of professionals, from recent graduates to seasoned experts, all driven by a shared passion for professional development and achievement. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and pursue new business opportunities within your designated Regional Sales Territory. This will involve a high volume of direct outreach through calls and emails, as well as strategic fieldwork to engage with potential clients. You will learn to understand customer needs and educate them on the connectivity solutions that Cogent offers, utilizing consultative selling techniques to build strong relationships. Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve targeted monthly revenue goals, making this a performance-driven role that rewards initiative and results.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and prospecting efforts through a high volume of direct calling and emailing efforts.
  • Strategize with your Sales Management team on how to sell into your region's largest commercial and retail buildings, office parks, and professional campuses.
  • Compliment prospecting and selling efforts with fieldwork such as building walks, lobby events, property management relationships, and customer face-to-face meetings.
  • Learn how to understand a customer's need and then educate them on the connectivity solutions that Cogent can provide to them via consultative and relationship-building selling techniques.
  • Consistently update your efforts in our Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Achieve targeted monthly revenue goals.

Requirements

  • 0-2+ years of solid, sales experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and software applications.

Benefits
