About the position

The Regional Accounting Manager for Live Production will oversee the accounting processes associated with the Commercial Line of Business (LOB) Plants. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely reporting related to inventory, variance analysis, and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) processes. The manager will be responsible for maintaining accounting controls that safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The position requires a strong focus on financial reporting, planning, and budgeting for the plants, which includes both capital and operating plans. In this role, the Regional Accounting Manager will manage a team of 5-6 accounting managers who are responsible for all accounting processes related to their assigned plants. This includes ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of weekly and monthly financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs). The manager will also handle any system-related problems and issues as they arise, ensuring that the accounting processes run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, the Regional Accounting Manager will be involved in hiring, training, and developing employees to help them reach their full potential. This includes ensuring adequate staffing and succession planning within the accounting teams. The role may also involve other duties as assigned, making it essential for the manager to be adaptable and proactive in addressing the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 5-6 accounting managers responsible for all accounting processes related to assigned plants.
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of weekly and monthly financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain adequate controls within commercial operations to safeguard the integrity of company assets and meet all requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Plan and budget for plants, including capital and operating plans.
  • Handle all system-related problems and issues as they arise.
  • Hire, train, and develop employees to reach their full potential.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and succession planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of previous work experience in Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices.
  • Knowledge of the poultry industry and specifically plant operations and controls as it relates to accounting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various management levels in the organization.
  • Proven management and supervisory skills, including training, motivating, and directing the work of others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Effective in developing business relationships across business units and technical support divisions.
  • Highly self-motivated.
