About the position

Delaware North Travel Hospitality is seeking a Regional Accounting Manager to oversee the Northeast travel region, which includes key markets such as Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, and Syracuse Airport. This pivotal role involves managing various accounting functions, including financial reporting, month-end journal entries, forecasting, budgeting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Regional Accounting Manager will work closely with unit General Managers and Delaware North leadership to enhance accounting processes and procedures continuously. The ideal candidate will be based in either Boston, MA, or Detroit, MI, but candidates from Buffalo, NY, or Syracuse, NY will also be considered. This position requires a commitment to supporting the Boston, Detroit, Buffalo, and Syracuse markets, with an expectation of travel exceeding 10% to these locations. In addition to a competitive salary, the Regional Accounting Manager will be eligible for an annual bonus plan based on both company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the designated operating location.
  • Execute strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
  • Lead ad hoc analysis of finances and prepare reports to facilitate decision making.
  • Oversee audit requirements and cash management procedures.
  • Ensure the accounting team at the operating location is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Work closely with Global Business Services to continuously improve hand-offs and transitions of work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience including previous supervisory experience.
  • Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft Financials preferred.
  • Leadership experience a plus.
