About the position

The Regional Application Engineer (RAE) is responsible for executing high-quality solutioning efforts for the Gas Power Services portfolio. This role involves creating technical solutions for upgrades and retrofits, supporting demand forecasting and growth strategies, and positioning GE's technology leadership to customers. The RAE will work closely with commercial and sales teams, providing technical expertise and developing strategies to win bids while managing opportunity-specific functional teams or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions as part of the pre-ITO process.
  • Interacts with the commercial and sales team to define and optimize products and performance.
  • Calculates plant, system, and equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Documents technical specifications and costing elements for contract execution phases.
  • Develops specialized knowledge in the Services portfolio and stays updated on technical developments.
  • Leads technical strategy development and assesses the quality of technical information.
  • Communicates complex concepts and influences others' opinions on technical topics.
  • Forecasts demand and plans account development for the Americas region.
  • Works with regional sales to support operational plans and collaborates with engineering teams.
  • Advocates for customers to build/manage new product introduction growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 6 years of customer-facing experience in gas turbine technology.
  • Ability to travel within the United States (up to 20% of the time).

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior gas turbine performance and/or controls experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in plant technologies, performance, and/or controls.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Established project management skills.
