The Dish Clerk position at our Bakery Fulfillment Center is a vital role that ensures the cleanliness and safety of our food handling processes. This non-exempt position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, which is essential for customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. As a Dish Clerk, you will be responsible for handling food safely and ensuring that all bakery equipment, dishes, and utensils are kept clean and neat. You will work closely with your co-workers as part of a team to create a pleasant work environment and ensure that our customers receive the best service possible. This role involves taking out the garbage, washing bakery equipment, and adhering to strict personal hygiene and dress guidelines. You will also be expected to report to work on time and assist in other areas of the facility as needed. This position does not require formal education, but candidates should have six months or less of similar or related work experience. The physical demands of the job include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and perform various physical activities such as climbing, balancing, and lifting. The working conditions may involve exposure to noise, cleaning chemicals, and temperature extremes, making it essential for candidates to be aware of their surroundings and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Takes the garbage to the compactor or designated area
  • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
  • Washes bakery equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc.
  • Handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
  • Adheres to company policies and individual location guidelines
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time
  • Assists in other areas of facility as needed
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required

Requirements

  • No education requirement
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to deal with a few concrete variables
  • Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to write identifying information and request supplies orally or in writing
