About the position

As the Regional Business Director - Dental Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the administrative operations of multiple dental offices within your assigned region. This position is essential for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, supporting office staff, and maintaining high standards of patient care and customer service. You will be responsible for operational oversight, achieving business goals, revenue, and profitability through a respectful, forward-thinking, and motivational style. Your leadership will be key in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that all staff are aligned with the company's objectives. In this role, you will continuously assess staffing needs and provide support for Practice Managers with effective recruitment strategies. You will also be tasked with providing training and development support to ensure that all office staff demonstrate knowledge of operational procedures and protocols. Your outstanding leadership will be vital for a geographically dispersed team, as you will recruit key hires and implement training and cross-training to strengthen service offerings. Developing a high level of excellence with the administrative and operations staff will be one of your primary responsibilities. Financial management is another critical aspect of this role. You will support the achievement of performance targets and budgeted goals, ensuring that Practice Managers comply with financial policies, including collection procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for enhancing the patient experience and customer service by supporting daily office operations within the region when necessary. A passion for customer service and satisfaction is essential, as you will work with team members to ensure that patients of your supported practices are highly satisfied with their experiences. Compliance and regulatory requirements will also fall under your purview, as you will need to respond to clinical and operational concerns in a timely and effective manner. Communication and coordination are key, as you will act as a liaison for the providers to the Clinical Directors and other members of the management team, relaying any clinical, operational, or other issues the providers may have.

Responsibilities

  • Operational oversight: Achieving business goals, revenue, and profitability through respectful, forward thinking, and motivational style.
  • Staff management and development: Continuous assessment of all the staffing needs and providing support for Practice Managers with effective recruitment.
  • Providing training and development support to ensure all office staff demonstrate knowledge of operation procedures and protocols.
  • Provide outstanding leadership for a geographically dispersed team, recruit key hires, and implement training and cross-training to strengthen service offerings.
  • Responsible for developing a high level of excellence with the administrative and operations staff.
  • Financial management: Supporting the achievement of performance targets and budgeted goals.
  • Ensure the Practice Managers are compliant with financial policies including, but not limited to collection procedures.
  • Supporting daily office operations within the region when necessary to enhance patient experience and customer service.
  • Responding to clinical and operational concerns timely and effectively to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Acting as a liaison for the providers to the Clinical Directors and other members of the management team, relaying any clinical, operational or other issues the providers may have.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in operations management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management or other related fields.
  • Ability to lead, coach, teach and manage others.
  • Experience with managing budgets and delivering information from P&L statements and delivering strong results and growth through the management of financial resources.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust.
  • Works well in a team setting, but also able to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dental operations management (3 years preferred).
  • Willingness to travel (75% preferred).
