The Attorney General's Office is seeking a highly motivated attorney to serve as the Regional Chief of the Central Massachusetts Regional Office located in Worcester. This position is integral to the management team and involves overseeing legal matters across various core areas of responsibility, including consumer protection, worker protection, civil rights, fair competition, nonprofit oversight, and representation of the Commonwealth and state officials in legal challenges. The Central MA Office also provides on-site assistance to residents dealing with labor, civil rights, and consumer issues, acting as a regional hub for implementing AGO-wide priorities that involve community outreach, education, and policy initiatives. As the Chief of the Central MA Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the office, which includes supervising Assistant Attorneys General and support staff while also handling their own legal matters. The Chief will lead the office and hold the position of Assistant Attorney General in one of the five Bureaus: Public Protection & Advocacy, Health Care & Fair Competition, Energy & Environment, Criminal, and Government. Coordination with division managers in Boston is essential, as Central MA staff report directly to them. The Chief will also represent the Office of the Attorney General in various educational and outreach programs, serving as a liaison with local public officials and community organizations, and will maintain consistent reporting on office activities to the Attorney General and her executive staff. This is a full-time, exempt position with a current hybrid work model that includes some remote workdays. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
