About the position

Executive Jet Management (EJM) is seeking a Regional Chief Pilot to oversee pilots and serve as the primary point of contact for Part 91/135 operations in the Southeast region, specifically Florida. This role is crucial for managing southeast-based operations and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policies. The Regional Chief Pilot will also have the opportunity to serve as a flight crewmember on EJM managed aircraft as needed, although flight crew qualifications are preferred but not mandatory for this non-14 CFR 119 position. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aviation management and a comprehensive understanding of Part 91/135 operations. In this position, the Regional Chief Pilot will function as the main point of contact for pilots and crew members, addressing questions, issues, and opportunities related to the safe operation of flight duties. Regular engagement with pilots is essential, focusing on effective communication, team collaboration, and cockpit relationship management. The role involves problem-solving and collaboration to mitigate known or potential risks, requiring on-site visits and various communication methods. The Regional Chief Pilot will collaborate with internal departments during the onboarding and offboarding processes for accounts, aircraft, and pilots. This includes interviewing, training compliance, aircraft conformity activities, and conducting year-end reviews and promotions. Additionally, the Chief Pilot will partner with Owner Services, Sales, Human Resources, Safety, and Fleet Maintenance to ensure that accounts are always staffed and mission-ready. The position also entails supporting the Chief Pilot and Director of Operations in policy development and compliance initiatives, as well as engaging with pilots on aviation incidents to ensure accurate reporting and timely follow-up. Mentorship for new hire pilots during their first year of employment is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary point of contact for pilots and crew members regarding flight operations.
  • Ensure pilots and crew members comply with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Engage with pilots regularly to foster strong communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal departments during onboarding and offboarding processes for accounts and pilots.
  • Act as a point of contact for aircraft owners on all pilot-related matters.
  • Support the Chief Pilot and Director of Operations in policy and procedure development and compliance.
  • Engage with pilots on aviation incidents, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up.
  • Check in with new hire pilots for mentorship and assimilation during their first year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or Aviation Management.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
  • 10+ years of experience in Flight Operations, Dispatch, or Operational Control.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations governing Part 91, Part 135, and Part 119.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
