About the position

The Regional Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the commercial sales team within a designated region. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for customer growth, maintaining key customer relationships, and ensuring the sales team is well-equipped with the necessary product knowledge and selling skills. The manager will also assist in complex sales negotiations and work closely with regional and general management to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs the day to day activities of the commercial sales team within a region.
  • Develops and implements customer growth strategies.
  • Maintains key customer relationships.
  • Works with stakeholders to develop regional sales plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Communicates the mission and goals of the organization and region to the commercial sales team.
  • Ensures the team is equipped with product knowledge, systems, and selling skills.
  • Evaluates staff performance and administers disciplinary actions consistent with company policy.
  • Collaborates with Division Commercial Sales Director, Regional Managers, and General Managers to define and share best practices.
  • Monitors performance results against plans by evaluating daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Assists commercial sales reps with complex sales negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sales management experience required.
  • Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence.
  • Current liability auto insurance required.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and develop others.
  • Organizational, project, and process management and leadership skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations.
  • Business process analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel within assigned region.
