The Regional Controller is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing compliance with accounting processes, policies, and best practices. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the financial operations align with the company's strategic goals and regulatory requirements. The Regional Controller will review and evaluate forecasts, budgets, job costs, cost controls, and other financial operating reports while presenting findings to management. This position supports the Operations team and collaborates with other Accounting team members and personnel from all departments to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency. The responsibilities of the Regional Controller include developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls. The Controller will supervise the recording and reconciliation of general ledger transactions and related accounts, identifying and leading process improvement efforts, including system enhancements to streamline project accounting functions. Additionally, the Controller will review, prepare, and document analyses of project estimates to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role is also responsible for project cost tracking, analysis, and reporting for decision support, perceiving current construction industry best practices, and implementing relevant changes. The Controller will coordinate and lead monthly financial and job status review meetings, as well as the annual budget process and monthly forecasting activities. Understanding contract terms and conditions is crucial, as is the ability to recognize discrepancies. The Controller will also work on special projects as requested and assist with external and internal audit execution, interfacing with Project Managers and Operations management on all aspects of construction accounting.
