About the position

The Regional Controller is a key financial leadership role responsible for managing financial and administrative activities across assigned properties. This position involves close collaboration with local General Managers and the Regional Vice President to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with corporate policies, and strategic financial planning. The role is based in Lombard, IL, and requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong background in accounting, preferably with Big 4 experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide status of financial performance through collection, reporting, and interpretation of key financial data.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget process and assist the General Manager in budget and forecasts preparation.
  • Prepare or assist in creating financial projections for strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and provide counsel to the General Manager and on-site management team.
  • Report directly to Finance with dotted line responsibility to the Regional Vice President of Operations.
  • Prepare and coordinate daily reporting, monthly closing, and other reporting requirements at local, regional, and corporate levels.
  • Assist the RVP and General Manager in analyzing operational data (KPIs).
  • Develop a central understanding of the organization's profitability drivers.
  • Manage fixed assets, insurance costs, and parts/equipment inventories.
  • Provide support for new business and contract re-procurement to operational and business development personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Big 4 Accounting/Auditing Experience or Equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required.
  • 3-6 years experience in assessment of financial performance required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • IFRS Experience is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze financial results and assist on-site management with action plans.
  • Proficiency with standard computer programs; knowledge of JDE is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven.
  • Ability to solve problems in a practical and pragmatic manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IFRS.
