About the position

The Regional Coordinator - Food Service position at Hissho International LLC is designed for an energetic sushi chef who is passionate about teaching and assisting in store openings and closings. This role involves training sushi chefs, enforcing food safety guidelines, and ensuring that the company's philosophy and culture are communicated effectively to field employees. The position requires flexibility to travel frequently, as it plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards across various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in store opening, maintaining, and closing of sushi bar operations
  • Train chefs as necessary to ensure Hissho standards are met
  • Assist in the recruitment of chefs
  • Visit units to inspect operations
  • Understand local sanitation, health code laws, and weights and measures requirements
  • Ensure all required logbooks including rice pH log and temperature logs are maintained and verified by chefs
  • Greet, interact, and communicate with customers, including taking orders and addressing issues
  • Educate customers regarding company products
  • Properly display and arrange visual presentation of products in sushi trays and cases
  • Prepare sushi related products based on product type and recipes
  • Improve sales, quality, and customer service
  • Work with the team to control cost and maintain consistency
  • Develop strong working relationships with retail and food service partners

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Sushi experience
  • Food service and customer service experience
  • Ability and flexibility to travel as required (75%-90%)
  • Ability to face challenges and take responsibility
  • High School diploma or related equivalent experience
