About the position

The Regional Demand Planner at Nouryon in Houston, TX is responsible for delivering a monthly demand plan as part of the business planning process. This role focuses on statistical forecasting and scenario planning to develop sales forecasts, ensuring product availability while minimizing operational costs. The planner will analyze historical sales data, manage forecasts, and collaborate with sales and customer service teams to align demand with supply capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a monthly demand plan approved through the Demand Management Review process.
  • Analyze and manage the forecast comparing it with historical sales data for a 1 to 24 month horizon.
  • Create a detailed historical database of forecasts for error analysis and corrective action.
  • Monthly reporting of Demand Management scorecard.
  • Coordinate execution of the demand plan with sales and customer service teams, managing exceptions with supply capability.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to reflect market movements and commercial strategies in forecasts.
  • Communicate situations regarding slow-moving and discontinued products to Sales Managers.
  • Segment forecasts to identify materials for collaborative forecasting and market information needs.
  • Maintain forecast models in SAP and Arkieva, ensuring correct statistical models are assigned to new product/plant combinations.
  • Act as a project leader or participant in demand management projects, focusing on SAP and Arkieva changes.
  • Create training materials and conduct training for users of Arkieva.
  • Support preparation and facilitation of Demand Reviews and provide input to Supply Management Review for inventory strategies.
  • Co-lead the Demand Supply Review to implement approved plans and propose tools for planning function improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Very good English communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with capability to analyze data including mass cross-reference data validation, trending, and forecasting.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all functional levels within the business.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system, Business Warehouse or equivalent data warehouse, or Arkieva is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and business processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects proactively with little direction.
  • Process-driven attitude and results-oriented.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred.
