About the position

The Regional Development Manager for the Northeast at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is responsible for achieving new sales and renewal revenue goals while retaining and recruiting corporate members in a designated geographic area. This role involves increasing membership and sponsorship sales revenue, setting up meetings for SEIA's CEO, and participating in business development meetings. The manager will work closely with the Director of Membership Engagement to implement outreach strategies and educate prospective members on the value of SEIA membership, contributing to aggressive membership growth and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve new sales and renewal revenue goals as outlined in the SEIA Compensation Agreement.
  • Retain existing corporate members and recruit new corporate members in the Northeast region.
  • Increase Membership and Sponsorship sales revenue.
  • Set up meetings for SEIA's CEO and meet outbound sales call goals.
  • Participate in weekly Business Development Meetings.
  • Develop strategies to exceed retention objectives with a focus on revenue and net gain growth.
  • Research companies and industry trends to develop leads.
  • Lead accounts through the full sales life cycle from lead to close.
  • Upsell existing members into premium categories of membership.
  • Travel to trade shows, conferences, and other events for in-person recruitment.
  • Create a pre-, on-site, and post-event sales strategy and plan, including systematic follow-up with potential members.
  • Integrate the Business Development Department's activities with other departments throughout SEIA.
  • Update and maintain an active pipeline with Salesforce CRM.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cold-calling and in-person sales.
  • Experience in association sales preferred but not required.
  • Ability to close sales with small regional businesses to C-level Executives at Fortune 500 companies.
  • Creative in developing innovative methods for member recruitment and retention.
  • Advanced skills or experience with Salesforce and Pardot.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong skills in process management, database management, and project management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with renewable energy and solar technology preferred but not required.
  • Proven success in implementing innovative recruitment methods.
