About the position

The Regional Director, Military & Veteran Services at TriWest Healthcare Alliance serves as the primary representative to the Military and Veterans' Services Administration (VA) healthcare facilities. This role focuses on account management services, building collaborative relationships, resolving issues, and optimizing the experience of healthcare facilities, network providers, and beneficiaries within the assigned service area. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively support the healthcare needs of military and veteran communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of TriWest's contracted responsibilities and performance requirements.
  • Function as the primary point-of-contact for assigned medical facility leadership regarding services and support provided by TriWest.
  • Meet with medical facility leadership monthly to assess ongoing support and identify issues and challenges.
  • Educate medical facility staff on TriWest processes and provide direct support for business plan development.
  • Develop proposals for improved healthcare delivery and care coordination between medical facilities and community healthcare.
  • Monitor compliance and review the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with each DoD medical facility annually.
  • Oversee beneficiary education activities and support the Beneficiary Education and Services Representatives.
  • Prepare reports to provide assessments and lessons learned per contract requirements.
  • Maintain liaison with State Adjutants General and National Guard regarding TRICARE education and services support.
  • Alert TriWest staff regarding specific medical needs of Special Operations commands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or related field.
  • 7 years of middle to senior management experience with increasing responsibility.
  • 3 years of recent healthcare experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of business relationships between health plans and network providers.
  • Prior management-level work in VA healthcare, MTFs, and TRICARE Managed Care experience.
