About the position

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is responsible for guiding the operations of healthcare facilities within their region, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role focuses on providing appropriate care and services to residents while maintaining the fiscal health of the facilities. The RDO will lead facility leadership, monitor performance indicators, and develop positive relationships with residents and staff to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding the overall operation of each facility and its programs in accordance with regulations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and evaluate outcomes to determine necessary actions.
  • Lead and coordinate routine team meetings to discuss priorities and develop solutions with facility leaders.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, employees, and family members.
  • Evaluate work performance of facility leadership and maintain accountability in concert with Human Resources.
  • Conduct periodic observations of in-service education to ensure staff competency.
  • Lead budget development with facility leadership and review monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure each facility's plan of correction response to regulatory inspections is completed and timely.
  • Promote safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
  • Communicate directly with residents, medical and nursing staff, and family members as needed.

Requirements

  • A valid, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator's license in the state.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in budget development and financial management.
  • Familiarity with CMS program initiatives and value-based purchasing programs.
