The Regional Director of Operations position at Teijin Automotive Technologies is a pivotal role that oversees the management of specific regions of manufacturing plants. This position is responsible for directing all areas of manufacturing to ensure that products are produced on schedule, meet quality standards, and adhere to cost objectives. The Regional Director will assist company officers and senior staff in developing long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives that align with the company's goals. In this role, the Regional Director will develop a comprehensive manufacturing plan and establish procedures to maintain high standards of manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring that products conform to established customer and company quality standards. The position requires achieving optimum employee levels while minimizing overhead and raw material costs to meet the annual budgetary plan. The Regional Director will also formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability. The Regional Director will direct and monitor department managers to accomplish the goals of the manufacturing plan, ensuring compliance with established manufacturing and safety procedures. This role acts as a liaison between department management and executive levels, facilitating communication regarding decisions, policies, and matters affecting performance and results. Additionally, the Regional Director will be responsible for hiring, training, developing, and evaluating staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and consulting with the Human Resources Department as necessary. The position also involves identifying, recommending, and implementing changes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and monitor scrap and rework data. The Regional Director will direct the establishment and maintenance of production standards and coordinate various essential programs related to manufacturing procedures, such as training, safety, and cost reduction initiatives. Major projects, including plant layout changes and capital equipment installations, will also fall under the purview of this role. Ultimately, the Regional Director is responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met and that the organization continues to innovate and grow.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, or business administration or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
