About the position

As the Regional Director of Operations for Janus Hotels and Resorts, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational success of multiple hotel properties within your assigned region. This full-time position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively train, coach, and support both employees and General Managers at various locations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all properties meet their budgeted revenue and house profit goals while adhering to brand standards. You will monitor quality assurance scores and guest feedback, providing necessary training and communication to General Managers and property staff to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. In addition to operational oversight, you will act as a liaison between the properties and the management company, fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective communication. Your role will also involve assisting with the pre-opening and pre-acquisition processes for new properties as directed by the executive team. During periods of General Manager turnover, you will step in as the acting General Manager until a permanent replacement is appointed. You will collaborate with the Executive Management Team on various projects, establishing objectives, prioritizing tasks, and managing time effectively to meet deadlines. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you work to improve quality results by evaluating and redesigning processes, implementing changes as necessary. You will also assist in the Annual Business Plan and Budget Process, contributing to quarterly reviews to ensure financial targets are met. This position requires a highly energetic and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training, coaching, and support of employees and General Managers of assigned properties.
  • Ensure budgeted revenue and house profit for all properties is met while maintaining all brand standards.
  • Monitor quality assurance scores and guest feedback; communicate and train General Managers and property employees accordingly.
  • Act as a liaison between the properties and management company, establishing and maintaining effective, positive relationships.
  • Assist with the pre-opening and pre-acquisition process of any property as directed.
  • Serve as acting General Manager for properties with GM turnover while a permanent General Manager is being selected.
  • Assist the Executive Management Team with projects as needed.
  • Complete projects and assignments by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving and making adjustments to plans as needed.
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes when needed.
  • Assist in Annual Business Plan & Budget Process and quarterly reviews.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years' experience as a hotel General Manager, Area Manager, or Regional Director is required.
  • Prior Marriott, Hilton, or IHG hotel experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer/client focus.
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the U.S. as business requires.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Hotel Sales.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities.
  • Results-driven focus and ability to work through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include, but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or other related field preferred.
