Transdev is searching for a Regional Director of Operations to lead our Northwest Region, which includes Washington, Nevada, California, and Oregon. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic direction and support to ensure that all locations within the region have the necessary resources to excel in their operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership role and is eager to make a significant impact in the transportation sector. The role offers a competitive salary range of $160,000 to $200,000, depending on experience. As the Regional Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing operations management, which includes strong logistical planning skills and management experience. You will need to be aware of all facets of the operation, understand profit and loss issues, and adopt a commonsense approach to getting things done. Your ability to resolve problems will be crucial, with an emphasis on accountability, delegation of responsibility, and the willingness to make informed decisions. In addition to operational oversight, you will provide leadership in employee relations, motivating staff and fostering coordinated efforts to achieve corporate goals. Building strong relationships with employees and understanding successful recruiting practices will be essential. You will also lead labor relations issues, including arbitrations and grievance hearings, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Association policy and providing direction in applying collective bargaining agreements. Conducting facility evaluations will be part of your responsibilities, where you will make recommendations for improvements or identify alternative locations to meet business needs. Safety management practices will be a priority, and you will need to focus on the necessity of safe operations while adhering to federal and state safety standards and regulations. Strong customer relationships will be built through effective communication and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. You will also be expected to maintain necessary records concerning compliance with regulations and internal reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strength in operations management, including strong logistical planning skills and management experience.
  • Resolves problems with an emphasis on accountability and delegation of responsibility.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in operations management.
  • Prior experience managing multiple satellite locations with unique business plans.
  • Experience with managing public agency contracts is preferred.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of DOT and FTA regulations and safety principles.
  • Computer literate with effective email usage.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  • Good oral and written presentation skills.
  • Undergraduate degree or 5+ years equivalent industry experience required.
