About the position

The Regional Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management for Baptist Health Medical Group is responsible for overseeing and managing the Patient Safety and Risk Management Program across assigned locations. This remote position requires residency in Kentucky and involves directing operations, managing claims, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The role includes providing support for claims and litigation matters, maintaining investigative files, and collaborating with leadership to enhance patient safety and risk management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the Patient Safety Evaluation System for assigned locations.
  • Oversee the operations of Patient Safety and Risk Management programs.
  • Provide support and oversight for claims and litigation matters.
  • Maintain oversight of the safety event-reporting program.
  • Ensure timely notification of serious incidents to relevant leadership.
  • Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures for the Patient Safety-Risk Management Program.
  • Identify trends in event reporting and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Monitor effectiveness of Risk Management and Patient Safety Activities.
  • Review and update materials related to Patient Safety and Risk Management programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree relevant to the scope of the role required.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare risk management required, including supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
