In this position, the Regional TM Relations Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert in employee relations, responsible for conducting thorough investigations into team member concerns. These investigations may involve sensitive issues such as allegations of harassment, workplace violence, discrimination, and employee misconduct. The specialist will provide recommendations based on their findings and will monitor the progress of corrective actions and progressive discipline resulting from these investigations. This role requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential and time-sensitive material with integrity. Additionally, the specialist will conduct climate assessments and work with the TM Relations team to implement strategies that mitigate risks and enhance the overall team member experience. They will also support the HR Operations team during surveys and compliance initiatives, ensuring that the organization meets all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and a strong sense of urgency while managing multiple projects simultaneously. This position is integral to maintaining a positive workplace culture and ensuring that Hackensack Meridian Health continues to be a leader in healthcare transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into team member concerns, including allegations of harassment, workplace violence, discrimination, and employee misconduct.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of corrective actions and progressive discipline from internal investigations.
  • Manage and advise on investigations involving team members, both virtually and on-site.
  • Serve as a consultative partner to HR Operations teams on complex employment situations such as terminations and performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct climate assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies in partnership with HR Operations.
  • Oversee the implementation of action plans stemming from investigation trends and compliance opportunities.
  • Provide support to HR Operations during Joint Commission, Department of Health, or other surveys as needed.
  • Implement tools and templates to support TM Relations and compliance initiatives.
  • Handle confidential and time-sensitive material with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in employee relations or labor relations, with a focus on conducting complex investigations.
  • Working knowledge of US Federal and State Employment laws, including Title VII, ADEA, and FLSA.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills applicable to a wide range of HR issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present data to identify trends and offer strategic advice.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to adapt messages for various audiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and personal integrity at all times.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office or Google productivity tools.
