About the position

The Regional Engineering Business Development Manager at ABM is responsible for developing new client relationships and driving sales growth in Engineering Facility Services within the New York Territory. This role requires a seasoned Facilities Engineer with a strong aptitude for business development, aiming to achieve a better work/life balance while leveraging engineering expertise to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic relationships.
  • Drive sales growth in the facilities engineering industry.
  • Participate in industry networking organizations and events to build relationships.
  • Collaborate with engineering operations teams to gain insights for national client attainment strategies.
  • Develop and execute short and long-term sales plans.
  • Maintain current sales and attract new prospects.
  • Create detailed, customized proposals and respond to RFPs.
  • Facilitate and close new business deals.
  • Utilize ABM's customer resourcing technologies for research and scheduling bid walks.
  • Assist in contract negotiation and manage transitions to operations.
  • Position as a leader in the field within the territory.
  • Establish a diverse network of industry relationships and community partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating value.
  • Maintain a database for the territory using ABM's CRM.
  • Support online and direct marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor bid schedules and understand market competition.
  • Develop a network of skilled operators and collaborate with them.
  • Assist with competitive intelligence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Engineering Operations or Business Development in the facilities engineering field.
  • Experience with facility engineering solutions sales.
  • Successful history of implementing new ideas and processes.
  • Mandatory experience in facility services, commercial real estate, or related fields.
  • Relevant sales contacts preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills for sales proposals.
