About the position
The Regional Development Associate will support the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) in executing its regional fund development strategy across Southern California. This role involves research, grant writing, donor cultivation, and collaboration with program staff to enhance outreach and engagement strategies. The Associate will manage fundraising efforts for various CEO sites, ensuring timely submission of proposals and grant reports while promoting the organization's mission to attract diverse funding opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in executing CEO's regional fund development strategy through research and grant writing.
- Cultivate relationships with donors and collaborate with program staff on outreach strategies.
- Draft letters of inquiry, proposals, and donor correspondence.
- Coordinate grant reporting and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Research funding prospects that align with CEO's mission and impact.
- Track institutional giving activities using Salesforce.
- Provide research and analytic support for funding or program ideas.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of related work experience, including at least one year in nonprofit grant writing/fund development.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Proficient experience with data and donor management platforms such as Salesforce.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in fundraising for social justice or workforce development initiatives.
- Familiarity with the reentry and workforce development sectors.
