About the position

The Regional Development Associate will support the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) in executing its regional fund development strategy across Southern California. This role involves research, grant writing, donor cultivation, and collaboration with program staff to enhance outreach and engagement strategies. The Associate will manage fundraising efforts for various sites, ensuring timely submission of proposals and grant reports while promoting CEO's mission to attract diverse funding opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing CEO's regional fund development strategy through research and grant writing.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors and collaborate with program staff on outreach strategies.
  • Draft letters of inquiry, proposals, and donor correspondence.
  • Coordinate grant reporting and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Research funding prospects that align with CEO's mission and impact.
  • Track institutional giving activities using Salesforce.
  • Provide research and analytic support for funding or program ideas.
  • Draft meeting requests and follow-up correspondence for funders.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related work experience, including at least one year in nonprofit grant writing or fund development.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Proficient experience with data and donor management platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing work needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in fundraising for reentry and workforce development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the Southern California funding landscape.
