About the position

The Regional Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing and directing maintenance activities across multiple nursing home facilities. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency. The director will manage maintenance personnel, implement preventative maintenance programs, and act as an interim maintenance director when necessary. The position requires significant travel within the assigned region, with a focus on maintaining the physical integrity of the facilities and supporting the development of maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise maintenance personnel in accordance with regulations.
  • Manage Directors of Environmental Services/Maintenance within the region.
  • Ensure all buildings are in working order and compliant with guidelines.
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program and ensure its execution.
  • Supervise maintenance workers and order necessary supplies.
  • Maintain high safety standards and oversee the Safety Committee.
  • Review Safety Committee minutes and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Utilize knowledge of maintenance phases to improve service standards.
  • Review budget reports and spend downs for all facilities.
  • Act as Interim Maintenance Director when needed.
  • Assist in the selection and training of Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Train and develop Maintenance Directors.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of management experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Basic knowledge in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Good physical and mental health with evidence of maturity.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with professionals and organize responsibilities effectively.
  • Patience and tact in interacting with residents.
  • Effective communication skills in various circumstances.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
  • 3 years of nursing home maintenance experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of TELLS experience (Preferred)
  • 2 years of Life Safety experience in SNFs (Preferred)
  • Willingness to travel 75% (Preferred)
