About the position

Healthy Kids is seeking a Regional Maintenance Lead who will play a crucial role in maintaining the facilities of our Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp Programs. This position is not just about performing maintenance tasks; it is about embodying the mission and core values of Healthy Kids in every aspect of work. The Regional Maintenance Lead will be responsible for the upkeep of our buildings, ensuring they are safe, functional, and welcoming for our children and staff. This includes conducting routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and managing repairs and renovations as needed. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with a strong background in property maintenance, capable of overseeing contractors and performing hands-on repairs when necessary. In this role, you will be expected to conduct regular inspections of the premises and equipment to identify any maintenance needs. You will also perform landscaping services, including snow removal, mowing, and general upkeep of the grounds. Your responsibilities will extend to diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing machines and equipment, and conducting renovation work that may involve painting, light electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, and more. The Regional Maintenance Lead will ensure that all work aligns with the Healthy Kids mission and values, fostering a positive environment for both staff and children. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as you will be interacting with various stakeholders, including contractors and internal staff. You will need to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard. The role is based out of our administrative offices in Liberty, NY, and will involve travel to various Healthy Kids locations in Monticello and Liberty, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Perform landscaping services for properties, including snow removal, mowing, and general landscaping.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee contractors for professional repairs as necessary.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures as needed.
  • Conduct renovation work, including painting, light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and framing.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in property maintenance or a similar field.
  • High school diploma or GED; related degree from a technical college preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to read blueprints and repair manuals as necessary.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

  • Associates degree preferred.
