About the position

The Regional Manager, Operations & Maintenance Services at ACCIONA Energía is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. This role involves leading the operations organization, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and implementing operational strategies to meet business goals. The manager will also focus on staff development, budget management, and maintaining high equipment availability through effective maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Operations and Maintenance organization for the region.
  • Manage the recovery plan project from budget development to implementation.
  • Ensure operations are performed according to safety standards and Acciona Energia standards.
  • Direct the development of processes and procedures for maintaining renewable generating facilities.
  • Ensure high availability of equipment through a preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure timely work conforms to regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and training of O&M personnel.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to determine failure modes and causes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, permits, and records.
  • Develop and present project, capital, and operating expense budgets.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities for analysis and implementation.
  • Lead analysis of O&M cost performance against budget.
  • Build relationships with 3rd party service providers and landowners.
  • Serve as the company's representative with customers and contractors.
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance of personnel and subcontractors.
  • Conduct safety analyses and reviews of hazards and energy sources.
  • Develop compliance checks for operating and safety rules.
  • Facilitate reporting requirements for internal and external customers, including KPI reporting.
  • Provide constructive feedback and continuous coaching/mentoring to employees.
  • Identify further training and education for employee growth.
  • Direct training of all operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain required training certifications and proficiencies for self and team.
  • Represent Acciona within the industry and facilitate professional presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in Operations and Maintenance of energy facilities.
  • Demonstrated history of managing large work teams.
  • Prior experience managing multiple large scale facilities or work locations.
  • Prior experience negotiating 3rd party contracts.
  • Commitment to safe operations and being a role model.
  • Ability to plan, direct switching and tagging for field personnel.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to domestic and international locations.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interact with key executives and customers.
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and contract implementation.
  • Ability to work in indoor or outdoor environments.
  • Ability to climb vertical ladders up to 300 feet.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

  • Experience with J.D. Edwards and Maximo systems.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
