About the position

Datadog is seeking a Regional Manager, Sales Engineering to lead a team of Sales Engineers in a high-growth environment. This role involves managing pre-sales activities, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer success. The manager will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and developing the team while fostering collaboration with other departments within Datadog.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Sales Engineers to qualify and close opportunities.
  • Coach the team on providing technical expertise through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Lead technical engagements for key accounts in the region.
  • Partner with the Sales Team to articulate Datadog's value proposition to customers.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts to hire top talent within the region.
  • Mentor and coach new hires during onboarding to ensure skill ramping.
  • Ensure the team is enabled to support all required Datadog solutions and develop key skills.
  • Develop relationships with Product Management, Support, and Enablement for continuity in sales activities.
  • Deliver semi-annual performance reviews and execute individual development plans.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years in a Sales Engineering team lead or mentorship role.
  • 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or equivalent client-facing role.
  • Strong desire to improve and grow professionally.
  • Proven ability to grow and develop a team.
  • Experience in recruiting individual contributors and front-line leaders.
  • Knowledgeable in current infrastructure and monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to build and execute evaluation plans with customers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate business benefits and technical advantages of offerings.
