Ambulatory Health Care Services

About the position

As a Regional Medical Director of our San Francisco Region at Sollis Health, you will oversee our flagship location, a house calls division, and a virtual care division. This role is pivotal as you will bring your talent and ambition for emergency medicine to provide clinical care and administrative leadership in our 24/7 concierge medical center. Here, we treat both adult and pediatric patients for cases that would typically be handled in an Urgent Care or a traditional emergency room. You will act as an advocate for Sollis members and patients, leading your team of clinicians while exemplifying our mission and values. This position requires a strong blend of medical expertise, management skills, and the ability to promote an exciting new medical service to high-profile clientele and the medical community. You will report directly to our National Medical Director. In this role, you will serve as the medical lead for your assigned center, balancing 60% administrative duties with 40% clinical shifts. Your responsibilities will include supervising and mentoring the Assistant Medical Directors, nurses, and advanced care providers. You will collaborate with and manage the Virtual Care Director to ensure efficient and high-quality virtual care, including Telehealth, Triage, and Aftercare. Managing a team of Providers will be essential to ensure they provide the highest standards of care and a quality patient experience. You will coordinate training for Providers and clinical staff, ensuring they are skilled in necessary medical procedures such as IV skills, Phlebotomy, and EKG. Additionally, you will ensure a robust clinical quality assurance program is in place and help collect data to meet clinical KPI goals set by the National Medical Director. Your role will also involve serving on various Leadership Committees, including the Medical Executive Committee and Pharmacy & Therapeutics, while attending Regional and National medical leadership meetings. Partnering with the Medical Operations leadership team will be crucial to ensure your Centers run efficiently and effectively, maintaining a robust staffing model to cover all shifts and provide 24/7 access to medical services. You will lead by example, promoting growth at Sollis, relaying organizational updates, and implementing clinical or non-clinical policy changes. Promoting Sollis Health through outreach to PCPs and Specialists in the community will be part of your responsibilities, enhancing hospital relationships and ensuring appropriate 3rd party lab and imaging resources are available for our members. This may include speaking at conferences or media events. Collaborating with our membership and commercial teams will be essential to maintain a high membership retention rate, and you will work with Member Services to assist with service recovery needs for members or medical partners. Ensuring patient records are accurate in our EHR AthenaHealth and monitoring adherence to policy will also be part of your duties. You will collaborate with Care Navigation for appropriate referrals and transitions of care, and with the Radiology and Medical Operations teams to ensure timely access to imaging modalities and lab tests. Your role will also involve collaborating with the People & Culture and Talent Attraction teams for annual performance reviews, addressing employee relations concerns, interviewing and hiring quality Providers, and championing corporate initiatives. You will perform or oversee medical evaluations and formulate differential diagnoses and treatment plans for urgent and emergent care within the scope of emergency medicine during your clinical shifts. Additionally, you will fulfill the responsibilities as Lab Director for the CLIA on-site lab and perform related duties as requested.
