About the position

The Cardiovascular & Metabolism Regional Medical Scientific Director is a credentialed expert responsible for engaging in scientific exchanges with Scientific Leaders (SLs) and providing balanced, factual information about therapeutic areas of interest and Company products. This role involves liaising between the scientific community and the Company to enhance understanding of scientific foundations and goals for clinical trials and research studies. The position requires significant travel within the North Carolina and South Carolina territories, with a focus on scientific exchange, research, and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to company-approved medical and scientific information.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain a reliable presence with SLs.
  • Address scientific questions and direct inquiries to appropriate company resources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the scientific and clinical environment in the therapeutic area.
  • Initiate discussions with SLs and potential investigators regarding research strategies and scientific merit.
  • Recommend study sites and identify potential investigators for clinical development programs.
  • Engage in scientific congresses and facilitate data exchange for Company and competitor data.
  • Gather feedback and data to help the company understand medical or scientific needs.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience.
  • Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
  • Thorough comprehension of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a changing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Field-based medical experience in Cardiovascular & Metabolism Research.
  • Demonstrated record of scientific/medical publication.
