About the position

The Regional Molecular Sales Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Thyroseq sales team, ensuring alignment with sales processes to meet and exceed quotas, and identifying new business opportunities. This role involves overseeing the sales team, implementing marketing strategies, analyzing market trends, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders to drive revenue and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Set the overall direction and strategy of the Thyroseq sales team.
  • Align sales processes to meet and exceed the team's sales quota performance.
  • Identify new business opportunities in untapped markets to drive revenue.
  • Create and implement TSQ sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.
  • Perform day-to-day oversight and management of the sales team.
  • Track and analyze market trends and present sales metrics to senior leadership.
  • Recruit and ensure ongoing development and training of direct reports.
  • Provide leadership to the sales team while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Establish sales objectives and develop annual sales quotas for territories.
  • Maintain sales volumes and product mix by keeping current with supply and demand.
  • Establish and execute business development strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and customer service teams.
  • Set quarterly and annual goals and motivate teams to achieve them.
  • Review customer activity and anticipate clinician needs to improve satisfaction.
  • Participate in sales calls to acquire new business and close deals.
  • Create monthly reports and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Identify important industry meetings to attend and budget for them.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client, and company records.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling sales teams across multiple regions.
  • Experience creating and implementing sales training programs.
  • Experience with clinical laboratory sales, marketing, customer service, or finance.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategies and sales techniques.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Knowledge of market trends and strategic thinking ability.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Hands-on work style and team player mentality.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders and clients.
  • Adaptable to changing market conditions and proficient in pivoting strategies.
  • Results-driven with a focus on business growth and profitability.
  • Proficient in analyzing sales performance data and using insights for decision-making.
