About the position

Samaritans Purse is seeking a Regional Office Administrator (ROA) who is passionate about customer service and possesses a keen attention to detail. This role is integral to the Operation Christmas Child (OCC) initiative, providing essential customer and administrative support at our Columbia, Maryland ministry site. The position is particularly demanding during the OCC Processing Season, which runs from November through mid-December, requiring a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, including Saturdays. Outside of this peak season, the role will transition to a part-time schedule of less than 24 hours per week. As a Regional Office Administrator, you will be part of a team that prioritizes the Gospel in all activities. Each day begins with a time of devotions, fostering a supportive environment where staff and volunteers pray for one another and for those they serve globally. Your responsibilities will include responding to inquiries via voicemail, email, and phone with professionalism and courtesy, as well as communicating the mission of Operation Christmas Child to the public. You will also be tasked with maintaining and tracking volunteer data, processing closing packets from various drop-off locations, and performing other duties as assigned. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve the community while utilizing your skills in a faith-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond courteously and professionally to voicemail, email, and phone inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Enthusiastically communicate a basic understanding of Operation Christmas Child to the public.
  • Develop, maintain, and track volunteer data.
  • Process closing packets and additional paperwork from various drop-off locations throughout the region.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new systems.
  • Team player; able to receive instruction and willing to serve others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
