About the position

The Regional Operations Director for Broward & Palm Beach Florida ENT Associates is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall success of a designated region that encompasses multiple ENT physicians and locations. The Regional Operations Director will provide leadership, direction, administration, and coordination of medical office activities within the assigned region. This includes accountability for operations, customer service, patient care, financial performance, managing physician and client relationships, strategic implementation, and people management. The role is crucial in ensuring that the operations align with the company's standards and objectives, thereby enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. In this role, the Regional Operations Director will assist in preparing annual budgets in collaboration with operational and clinical leadership, as well as the finance and accounting team. They will participate in the development and recommendation of corporate policies and procedures, implementing and monitoring internal processes to ensure effective and efficient operations. The director will also be responsible for monitoring controllable office expenses and attending monthly care center meetings to address operational issues and communicate significant matters related to company strategy and financial performance. The position requires a strong focus on physician relationship management, where the director will coordinate contract negotiations and monitor contract changes. Regular meetings with physicians will be essential to identify projected changes in service requirements, proactively address expectations and issues, and understand local market dynamics that impact the company and its physicians. Additionally, the Regional Operations Director will play a key role in people management, recruiting, training, developing, and evaluating Care Center managers and employees to ensure high levels of customer and patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall success of the assigned region within a defined market consisting of multiple ENT physicians and locations.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets in coordination with operational and clinical leadership along with the finance and accounting team.
  • Participate in the development and recommendation of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor internal company processes and other standard work tools to ensure effective and efficient operations in line with company standards.
  • Monitor and manage controllable office expenses within the defined market.
  • Attend monthly care center meetings to resolve operational issues and communicate significant issues related to company strategy, financial performance, and other initiatives.
  • Monitor business metrics related to financial and operational performance, interfacing with support center departments responsible for data production and analysis.
  • Provide support to new Physician Offices and Acquisitions in collaboration with designated internal work groups, as well as clinical and operational leadership.
  • Work with other Regional Operations Directors to collaborate, implement, and maintain consistent policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all Care Centers meet compliance and risk management goals.
  • Work with Care Center managers to maintain clean, safe, and presentable facilities in line with company guidelines.
  • Coordinate contract negotiation/renegotiation processes in conjunction with legal, clinical, and operations leadership.
  • Meet regularly with physicians to identify projected changes in service requirements that impact operations and financials, proactively address expectations and issues, and understand local market issues.
  • Act as a liaison to ensure a strong sense of company culture within the care centers.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate Care Center managers/supervisors and employees in line with budgets and customer/patient service levels.
  • Work with Senior Ops leadership and Human Resources to develop a pipeline of effective leadership at the facility level.
  • Direct recruiting strategy for the assigned region to fulfill needs for short, mid, and long-term success and market development.

Requirements

  • 5 years managing multiple locations at a regional level, preferably in a service-oriented Health Care Organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and 10 plus years of experience in physician practice management or healthcare management with extensive physician interface.
  • Master's Degree in a health-related field strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
