About the position

The Regional Operations Director will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the distribution and service efforts across multiple branch locations within a defined area. This position is responsible for ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and effectively, adhering to company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Director will lead the branch operations, focusing on optimizing operational efficiency and maximizing profits while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company practices. In this role, the Regional Operations Director will have full ownership of branch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Product Margin, Labor Utilization, On-Time Delivery, and Safety and Quality Scorecards. The Director will also hold full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for all branches, which includes managing inventory and ensuring that annual business plans and budgets are met. The position requires active participation in business reviews and collaboration with branch management to ensure accountability and adherence to job responsibilities. The Director will ensure that all branches comply with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements, Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and the company’s Shop Certification and On-Boarding Programs. Leadership and mentoring will be key components of this role, as the Director will provide guidance to branch management on operational excellence, financial acumen, and personnel management. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for identifying business opportunities and fostering positive relationships with customers to meet their expectations and goals. The position also involves planning for consistent product availability and manpower, ensuring realistic production schedules, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and eliminate waste. The Regional Operations Director will communicate with Human Resources regarding staffing needs, performance evaluations, and staff development to achieve functional excellence across all branches.

Responsibilities

  • Overall ownership for ensuring all products are delivered on time, in conformance with customers' scope of work, company safety and operational standards, and industry code requirements.
  • Overall ownership of branch KPI Targets - Product Margin, Labor Utilization, On-Time Delivery, Warehouse, Safety Scorecard, and Quality Scorecard for respective branches.
  • Full P&L responsibility for all respective branches inclusive of inventory management.
  • Responsible for ensuring annual branch business plans/budgets are met.
  • Ensure branch management assists CQ and BE Directors/Managers with managing employee accountability and duties outlined in respective job descriptions.
  • Responsible for participating and ensuring respective branch participation for required business reviews.
  • Ensure respective branches operate in accordance with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements outlined in company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure respective branches operate in accordance with all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements outlined in company manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure respective branches are compliant with company Shop Certification Program.
  • Ensure respective branches are compliant with company On-Boarding Program.
  • Provide consistent leadership, accountability, and mentoring to branch management.
  • Ensure branch management is accountable for inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure respective branches compliance with efficient, daily production meetings.
  • Ensure all respective employees have visibility to accurate and updated production boards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in plant operations by reducing cost, eliminating waste, and increasing value proposition.
  • Plan consistent availability of product and manpower by ensuring a realistic production schedule for all respective branches.
  • Communicate with Human Resources for hiring, terminations, performance evaluations, and staff development to create functional excellence.
  • Identify business opportunities with existing/new customers to ensure all expectations/goals are met.
  • Interact and develop a positive relationship with customers to ensure all expectations/goals are met.
  • Provide development and coaching to all Branch Managers on commercial strategy, operational excellence, financial acumen, and personnel management.
  • Provide oversight and coaching to the Branch Manager on the smooth and efficient flow of materials through the manufacturing plant by optimizing equipment, facilities layout, equipment maintenance, training of personnel, and implementing world class systems for controlling key quality and cost variables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 15+ years of experience in a relevant or equivalent position.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, technical, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized and effective time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines.
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.
