About the position

The Regional Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations and profitability of the company's branches within a specific region. This role conducts operational analyses and audits current procedures to monitor and improve the efficiency of operations and client satisfaction. The position requires a proactive approach to managing daily operations, staff performance, and financial monitoring to achieve optimal results across multiple locations. In this role, the Regional Operations Manager supervises the daily activities of each branch in their geographic area. This includes managing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring efficient processes that comply with company, client, local, state, and Federal policies and regulations. The manager is responsible for employee performance, development, and engagement across their region, which involves coaching, talent management, and addressing performance gaps. Additionally, the Regional Operations Manager develops and implements operational processes to enhance efficiency and consistency across multiple locations. They track financial performance, analyze data, and make informed decisions to optimize profitability. This includes interpreting and sharing location statistics with key stakeholders, reviewing and interpreting operating information, and providing advice and assistance to top management in planning, implementing, and evaluating modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures. The role also involves representing the organization at various community and/or business meetings, promoting existing and new programs and/or policies, and overseeing and supervising up to 4 direct reports within a region. The position may require performing other duties as assigned, which can include speaking with motor carriers, checking compliance, communicating with other departments, and interviewing and recruiting staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of each branch in the geographic area.
  • Manage staff performance, development, and engagement across the region.
  • Develop and implement operational processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Track financial performance and analyze data to optimize profitability.
  • Interpret and share location statistics with key stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret operating information and coordinate periodic operating analyses.
  • Provide advice and assistance to top management in planning and evaluating modifications to operations.
  • Represent the organization at community and business meetings to promote programs and policies.
  • Oversee and supervise up to 4 direct reports within the region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business management or related field preferred.
  • Four (4) years or more of work-related experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred.
  • Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through equivalent-level work experience or a Bachelor's Degree in business management or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a diverse community.
  • Strong presentation skills to engage with motor carriers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Employee development skills to supervise and train employees effectively.
