About the position

The Regional Operations Support Specialist (ROSS) plays a crucial role in supporting operations across multiple facilities within a designated region. This position focuses on preventive and emergency maintenance, safety compliance, and physical plant improvements, while also facilitating training and communication among Operations Technicians. The ROSS will work closely with the Operations and Maintenance Manager to ensure quality control and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best management practices (BMPs).

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively in a team environment to share successes and lessons learned across facilities.
• Assist Operations Technicians with preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, and safety compliance activities.
• Schedule, plan, and implement quality control of engine-generator overhauls in the assigned region.
• Develop and draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best management practices (BMPs).
• Act as a liaison with Operations Technicians to facilitate continuous education and certification.
• Train new and existing Operations Technicians on SOPs and BMPs.
• Backfill operations as needed and respond quickly to assigned plants.
• Ensure health and safety compliance in the workplace.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two-year post high school technical degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering technologies or comparable experience.
• Strong knowledge of landfill gas-fueled engine-generator operations and maintenance.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Good math skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and internet skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to reprioritize activities based on operational needs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with preventive maintenance and inventory tracking software.
• Good working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in engine repair.
