About the position

The Payment Operations Team Lead will oversee the North American Regional Team at Wise, focusing on enhancing operational payment processes. This role involves managing team performance, driving operational excellence, and ensuring high-quality workflow while supporting team members' growth. The Team Lead will act as the first escalation point for operational issues and will be responsible for setting goals and monitoring performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of part of the operational payment process.
  • Acting as the first level escalation point for the team and internal/external partners.
  • Developing a strong Operations team and supporting specialists on their personal growth paths.
  • Setting goals for the Operations teams and reporting against them, monitoring team's performance metrics.
  • Managing team's resources and relevant skills to ensure high-quality, high-speed workflow with optimal coverage.
  • Driving operational excellence while building sufficient controls and assessing and mitigating operational risks.
  • Ensuring the team's readiness to handle unexpected situations.
  • Guaranteeing process documentation within own area.
  • Ensuring team's input and participation in regional and central Operations planning.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of leadership experience with an operational background.
  • Experience working with internal and external partners to optimize processes via project management support.
  • KPI and SLA driven with the ability to develop metrics and report against them.
  • Experience and skills in project management.
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Ability to use data to prioritize tasks that add the most value to customers and measure impact.
  • Comfortable working within teams facing complex issues and taking charge in difficult situations.
  • Passion for technology and customer experience.
