About the position

The Regional Payroll Manager (US/CA) is responsible for overseeing all payroll processing activities for employees in the United States and Canada. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely payments while collaborating with various departments to validate payroll information and resolve discrepancies. The manager will also design and improve payroll processes, maintain data integrity, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency, all while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. The position requires both leadership and hands-on involvement in payroll operations, utilizing software such as ADP GlobalView, Celergo, and Workday.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of payroll processing for employees in the US and Canada.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and validate payroll information.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide exceptional service to employees.
  • Design and improve payroll processes and operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Administer and maintain payroll systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Lead global work plans to ensure compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and industry trends to implement best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for payroll information.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in payroll management in the US and Canada, with 5+ years leading a team.
  • Experience supporting full cycle payroll for 3,000+ employees across various US states and Canada.
  • In-depth knowledge of global payroll processes, labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading teams to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in payroll and time tracking systems such as Workday, ADP GlobalView, Celergo, and UKG Kronos.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to articulate complex topics clearly to various audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing payroll processes and procedures.
  • Experience with SOX audits.
