About the position

The Regional Process Engineer plays a crucial role in harmonizing production processes, equipment capabilities, and formulations to ensure that products meet desired standards and specifications. This position requires scientific and technical expertise to independently deliver on projects while collaborating with key stakeholders across various departments to ensure safe and consistent manufacturing of products across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize and stabilize peanut butter manufacturing and healthy snacks through formula and process optimization.
  • Work independently to collect and interpret data to develop process specifications and implement changes to improve food safety, quality, and output.
  • Improve First Pass Quality (FPQ) by partnering with R&D to ensure correct formulations are in place.
  • Understand line capabilities and processing parameters to achieve specification adherence.
  • Train resources on standards and methods for running equipment and formulas according to expectations.
  • Conduct research on new products and food process innovations, preparing summaries and insights.
  • Analyze problems and identify alternative options using internal and external resources.
  • Execute plant experiments and trials, focusing on Roasters and Oven performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental and design work.
  • Analyze data and establish trends using statistical process control tools like Minitab and Tableau.
  • Summarize findings and make specific recommendations to the business.
  • Formulate action plans and collaborate with stakeholders for execution.
  • Develop new methods for food processing, production, quality control, and packaging.
  • Support production scale-ups and commercialization efforts.
  • Identify and assist in implementing production improvement and cost-saving projects.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of product specifications and document processing standards.
  • Define processing core competencies and transfer technical learnings to manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify winning methods and techniques for production assets and mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical, Biological, Mechanical, or Food Engineering required; MS preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in process research, preferably in the food industry with Roasters and heat transfer systems.
  • Knowledge of unit operations and processing equipment in large-scale manufacturing.
  • Intermediate project management knowledge and strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and technologies.
