About the position

The Regional Product Development Manager (RPDM) for Matting at United Rentals serves as the primary contact for strategic accounts within the Matting Solutions Region. This role involves acting as a liaison between various account managers and sales representatives, providing technical support and training for Matting Solutions applications, and driving revenue growth through collaboration and lead sharing. The RPDM will also manage new projects, oversee fleet movements, and develop training programs to enhance product knowledge and safety among sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for key accounts in the Matting Solutions Region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts for the Matting Solutions Division.
  • Collaborate with local sales representatives to drive incremental revenue.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for Matting products and services to larger customers.
  • Manage new projects and related fleet for the Matting Solutions Division.
  • Limit underutilized assets through training and redistribution of equipment.
  • Oversee specialty fleet movements between branches and districts.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for sales representatives on Matting product applications and safety.
  • Provide engineering and design support for complex technical projects.
  • Utilize Sales Force Automation tools to provide business intelligence to the sales team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 7 years of technical sales experience in the Matting product/services line or related experience.
  • 3 years of sales supervisory experience with the ability to train and motivate others.
  • Firm working knowledge of existing products and methods in the rental market.
  • Strong knowledge of new Matting products and technologies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Strong sales management and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation.
  • Engineering/mechanical aptitude for large projects.
  • Proficiency with SFDC, Dodge, PEC or other CRM software.
