About the position

The Regional Product Line Manager for North America Hydraulics at Gates Co is responsible for driving the profitable growth of the hydraulics product line. This role involves strategic input and leadership, operational excellence, and driving commercial success through collaboration with various teams. The position requires a deep understanding of the North American hydraulics market and the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that enhance customer satisfaction and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the North American Hydraulics market and integrate insights into global product line strategies.
  • Maintain a view of the North American competitive landscape and create competitive profiles.
  • Drive the progress of new production adoption and product line initiative KPIs.
  • Provide input into the product roadmap based on market needs and opportunities.
  • Champion approved VAVE projects to completion, driving cost and productivity savings.
  • Contribute to demand planning by translating market indices into projected business implications.
  • Evaluate and align Demand and Supply plans based on commercial initiatives and market conditions.
  • Identify and execute inter-company sourcing while balancing P&L and service levels.
  • Resolve critical service level and quality issues impacting customer satisfaction.
  • Manage Excess & Obsolete inventory and provide insights into capacity requirements.
  • Deliver engaging field sales training on products and application criteria.
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve backlog situations and achieve financial metrics.
  • Capture VOC through participation in customer meetings and industry events.
  • Support evaluation of strategic quote packages in terms of pricing and market conflicts.
  • Lead product line specific price increase evaluations and recommendations.
  • Execute pricing and positioning strategy for New Product introductions at a regional level.
  • Lead catalog creation for regional market needs and coordinate with cross-functional teams for local trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of product management or relevant experience, preferably in a hydraulics environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and influence across multiple levels.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and proactive approach to work.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined with integrity.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to consolidate complex data sets into clear summaries.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time and occasionally work outside regular hours.
