About the position

ERM is seeking a Regional Programs Manager for Project Accounting, a pivotal role that supports the business through efficient invoicing and project financial management. This position is designed to enhance the service provided by the Project Accounting team to Project Managers and Partners, ensuring that key metrics such as Work In Progress (WIP) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) are met. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller to deliver high-quality service, focusing on efficient invoicing processes, quality assurance, and providing training and guidelines for Project Accounting. In this role, you will manage a team of Project Accountant Supervisors who support the North America Business. You will be responsible for developing operational metrics that highlight areas of focus and success measures, while also monitoring and driving initiatives aimed at reducing WIP and DSO. Managing team workloads and analyzing portfolios will be essential to establish a highly productive work environment. You will act as a liaison between Operational and Finance functions as needed, collaborating with the PCS Manager to maintain and enhance Project Accounting guidelines, processes, and procedures. Additionally, you will oversee the invoicing performance for North America Project Accounting and ensure timely revenue recognition by managing close week deadlines. Regular feedback on employee performance and goal setting will also be part of your responsibilities, along with providing recommendations to management for improving team performance and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Financial Controller to provide a high level of service to Project Managers by focusing on efficient invoicing, quality, Project Accounting training, and process guidelines.
  • Manage team of Project Accountant Supervisors supporting North America Business.
  • Develop operational metrics highlighting areas of focus and develop measures for success.
  • Monitor, create, and drive initiatives to reduce WIP and DSO.
  • Manage team workloads and analyze portfolios to establish a highly productive work environment.
  • Liaison between Operational and Finance functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with PCS Manager to maintain and enhance Project Accounting guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage North America Project Accounting invoicing performance.
  • Manage to close week deadlines for revenue recognition.
  • Provide periodic employee performance feedback and goal setting.
  • Provide recommendations to management to improve team performance and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting from an accredited university preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5+ years of project accounting experience; professional services experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and experience using mid- to high-level accounting software packages (such as BST, Deltek, Oracle).
  • Ability to work with minimal direction in a highly collaborative manner to meet required deadlines and perform all necessary tasks.
  • “Hands-on” professional with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A process oriented problem solver with a focus on the internal and external clients.
