About the position

The Purchasing Manager - Replenishment and Inventory Value Focus is a critical role within Ferraro Foods, responsible for overseeing the replenishment process and managing inventory value for both food and non-food items. This position plays a vital part in ensuring that the food service operations are well-stocked and that inventory levels are optimized to meet demand. The Purchasing Manager will develop and implement effective replenishment strategies that guarantee the consistent availability of products, while also monitoring supplier performance to ensure that all replenished items meet the required quality and safety standards. In this role, the Purchasing Manager will collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to understand demand patterns and adjust replenishment plans accordingly. This involves utilizing inventory management systems to track stock levels, manage reorder points, and implement best practices for inventory control to minimize excess stock and stockouts. The manager will also be responsible for analyzing the impact of replenishment items on inventory value and developing a replenishment budget that aligns with financial targets and business goals. The Purchasing Manager will lead a team of purchasing professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to achieve departmental goals. This includes conducting performance reviews, offering training and development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement replenishment strategies to ensure consistent availability of products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs based on sales data and market trends.

  • Develop and manage the replenishment budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory value, ensuring that stock levels are aligned with financial targets and business goals.
  • Implement cost-control measures and ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Ensure all replenished items meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues with suppliers.
  • Participate in regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with industry regulations.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to track purchasing patterns, inventory value, and supplier performance.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities, inventory value, supplier performance, and cost savings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve replenishment processes and inventory value.
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the food service industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards is a plus.
