About the position

The Regional Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing function across assigned locations, managing a team of Buyers, and ensuring effective inventory management. This role involves collaboration with Operations, Sales, and other key functions to optimize inventory levels and improve purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of salaried Buyers or Purchasers within the Regional Branch.
  • Maintain purchasing systems and procedures with high data accuracy and integrity.
  • Review on-hand inventory balances for excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and results by generating ideas for improvement.
  • Monitor jobs at each branch in 500 status including 500 status jobs over 30 days.
  • Monitor negative inventory at each branch on a weekly basis.
  • Review Late PO's at each branch on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor no demand and excess inventory at each branch on a weekly basis.
  • Review MinMax stock inventory at each branch on a weekly basis.
  • Effectively communicate with customer service and engineering on part number issues, lead times, new parts, supplier deliveries, deviations, etc.
  • Coordinate yearly physical inventories at its respective branches.
  • Ensure compliance with standard policies, procedures, and quality control processes.
  • Assist each branch with the prompt on-time delivery of parts associated with Fleet jobs.
  • Work with scheduling to ensure major material is being delivered in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 3 - 8 Years of Supply Chain & Procurement experience.
  • Manufacturing industry or Automotive background experience preferred.
  • J D Edwards system experience preferred; Large ERP system experience required.
  • Successful demonstration of managing a team across remote locations.
  • Experience with MS Office required; proficiency in Excel; Demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping preferred.
  • The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
