The Regional Quality Assurance Nurse will provide clinical oversight for a portfolio of skilled nursing facilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while mentoring facility leadership. This role involves occasional overnight travel to various facilities and requires strong leadership and communication skills to promote quality care and survey readiness.

  • Implement state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Act as a nurse mentor and advisor to facility leadership.
  • Provide onsite support during annual state and federal survey inspections.
  • Assist in developing a plan of correction following state or federal surveys.
  • Help develop adequate staffing patterns and ratios in cooperation with facility leadership.
  • Notify company leadership of events posing compliance or litigation risks.
  • Manage and investigate events related to compliance and provide follow-up education.
  • Conduct mock survey audits and onsite reviews of resident care and services.
  • Provide reports of findings and recommendations to facility leadership.
  • Maintain effective communication with facility leadership and report observations.
  • Conduct entrance and exit conferences during onsite visits.
  • Communicate with the Regional Vice President regarding facility clinical performance.
  • Assist with nurse recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for nursing positions.
  • Emphasize safety awareness and accident prevention to facility staff.
  • Review quality measures and assist in developing performance improvement programs.
  • Conduct ongoing training programs for nursing and other staff in response to QAPI programs.
  • Attend and participate in facility QAPI Meetings and Risk Meetings.
  • Notify the Regional Vice President of any concerns regarding recommendations.
  • Participate in the creation and revision of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business partners and healthcare providers.
  • Submit required reports to company leadership in a timely manner.
  • Work in partnership with the regional team to meet goals and targets.
  • Promote and teach the INTERACT standards.
  • Participate in monthly operations meetings.
  • Act as Director of Nursing on a temporary basis when needed.
  • Follow the dress code and business code of conduct.
  • Adjust schedule and physical locations based on operational needs.
  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution.
  • NYS Registered Nurse License in good standing.
  • Experience as Director of Nursing in Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in various computer programs and electronic medical records.
  • Strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations for long-term care.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of staff and agencies.
